Speaking of steamrollers, did any of you ever read that book about the steamroller driver when you were little? I thought it was about a man named Dan, but a Google search of that only brought up some book about a steamroller that takes down a "wicked gang" which I don't think is it. (Completely unrelated to non-pretty things, I know, but who ever speaks of steamrollers that often? I thought I ought to bring it up since Matt had!)

When clothes do not match and it does not matter

A few of my friends are making a return journey to Half Dome today. For me, a year is a bit too short of a lapse for repeating the same, long hike, but I am more than willing to accompany pals on shorter, quicker, less pretty hikes:
